Meet our fabric - Acetate

Acetate is a plant-based fabric made from wood pulp from responsibly managed forests. It belongs to a group of fibres called cellulosic fibres, which start from natural plant material but are transformed into soft, wearable yarn through careful processing.

Acetate feels smooth, light and silky on the skin, and it drapes beautifully in clothing. Because of its structure, it also dries quickly, feels comfortable in warmer weather and resists pilling, providing a high-quality look and feel to garments.

Why Acetate?
  • Comfortable & soft – it’s gentle on the skin and breathable.

  • Low environmental impact – made in a closed-loop process that recovers and reuses solvents.

  • Responsible materials – the wood pulp comes from certified sustainable forests.

  • Biodegradable – Acetate fibres are certified to break down naturally over time.

Because of these qualities, Acetate is seen as a more sustainable alternative to many conventional fabrics, combining durability, comfort and environmental care.

Care

Acetate is a delicate fabric with a soft, silky feel, and it should be treated with care to maintain its quality and appearance.

We recommend hand washing in cold water or using a gentle machine cycle with similar colours. Always use a mild detergent and avoid bleach, as harsh chemicals can damage the fibres.

Do not tumble dry. Instead, gently reshape the garment and let it air dry flat or on a hanger. If needed, iron on low heat while the fabric is slightly damp, or use steam. Avoid high temperatures, as acetate is sensitive to heat.

With the right care, Acetate garments will keep their beautiful drape, softness and refined look for a long time.
