Recycled Polyester (rPET) is created by breaking down used plastic bottles and other post-consumer polyester waste. The material is then transformed into high-quality fibers, which can be used to produce new textiles. This closed-loop process not only gives new life to discarded materials but also helps minimize our reliance on virgin polyester derived from petroleum.

There are several reasons why we have chosen to work with Recycled Polyester over other alternatives:

• Resource Conservation: By using post-consumer waste, rPET helps conserve natural resources such as oil, which would otherwise be required to produce virgin polyester.

• Reduced Waste: By repurposing discarded plastic bottles and polyester waste, rPET actively contributes to reducing landfill waste.

• Lower Carbon Footprint: The production of Recycled Polyester generates significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to virgin polyester, thereby minimizing the carbon footprint and supporting global efforts to combat climate change.

• Durable and Versatile: Recycled Polyester retains the same beneficial properties as virgin polyester, including durability, wrinkle resistance, and quick-drying capabilities, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of applications.

While we are proud of the steps we have taken to increase our share of recycled polyester vs virgin polyester, we recognize its limitations:

• Finite Recyclability: Polyester, while recyclable, cannot be recycled indefinitely. Over time, the fibers may degrade, which may limit its life cycle.

• Environmental Impact: The process of recycling polyester, while less impactful than producing virgin polyester, still has a footprint on the environment. It's important to continue refining and improving recycling techniques to further reduce this impact.

As the polyester fiber is so durable and resilient, it can be worn, washed, pressed and stored many times without being too affected. Depending on the product, it can usually be washed in medium temperatures (30-40° Celsius). Wash in a microfiber washing bag to catch microfibers from being washed out in the drain. It shouldn’t be ironed in too hot temperatures as it has a lower melting point than natural materials. However, polyester rarely wrinkles so it shouldn’t need that much ironing. Most polyester garments can be stored folded as they don’t crease much, but shaped garments such as blazers should always be stored on hangers to keep the shape.
